The Formation of the Terran Alliance

After learning of the existence of the predatory T'Garans and their increasing attacks on nearby worlds, the United Earth Commonwealth of Nations (UECON) and Solar Navy set aside their differences to create the VanGuard Fleet to deal with any issues that the T'Garans might present to the worlds of humanity.

The newly formed Vanguard Fleet made use of starships from both the old Solar Navy and the UECON HomeGuard fleets.

While the more heavily-armed and armored warships of the UECON served as the core line combatants for the Vanguard, the swifter and more maneuverable Solar Navy ships became escorts and patrol vessels throughout human space.
