UECON HomeGuard Fleet in the late 02100s

The United Earth Commonwealth of Nations faced two daunting situations at the close of the 02100s.  First, they had to contend with the growing might of the outsystem powers (the Western Alliance, made up of the NorAms, Crown States, Free Aries Colonies, and Jovian Republic) and their fleet, the fledgling Solar Navy.  Second, the threat posed by increasing incursions from the Cronians and Krayrath generated calls for the construction of a more powerful Terra-based fleet that could project power into nearby star systems.
The result was the UECON HomeGuard Fleet, built around a number of starship classes optimized for combat operations beyond the Solar System.

UECON Oceanstar class Colonial Support Cruisers were an increasingly common sight in the outer Solar System in the 02180s and 02190s as UECON attempted to project a presence in the region.
