The Independent Solar Navy of the early 02200s

Prior to the war with the felinoid T'Garans, the Solar Navy and UECON HomeGuard operated in vastly different, and at times in antagonistic ways.  While the UECON fleet focused on projecting power into other nearby unclaimed star systems and "showing the flag" for Terra, the Solar Navy served in two major roles: 1) protecting the outer colonies of the Solar System from the influence of UECON and 2) exploring other star system by way of the HyperGate Portal Network.

Solar Navy vessels tended to be faster and more agile than their UECON HomeGuard analogs, while carrying much less armor and more specialized weaponry like homing missiles and close-in beam systems.
